Want To Help Your Kids Learn Yoga?
How do you get a child between the ages of three and eight to get into yoga poses and hold them for a specified time? Sydney Solis discovered the answer when she created Storytime Yoga.
“Children are naturally receptive to yoga and story,†Solis said when discussing her unique technique to teaching children yoga. “Children embody the story and integrate the lesson’s cross-curriculum approach. They develop self-confidence, attention and a vivid imagination, which is part of a rich inner life that is needed to keep kids’ minds in their bodies and their bodies in harmony with their environments - something that is a challenge for many kids today.”
Solis has taken her innovative technique to the next level by creating a DVD that is entitled “Storytime Yoga: The Peddler’s Dreamâ€. Solis uses the classic story to teach children about philosophy and a number of different yoga poses. It seems that creating healthier children is just a story away!
