Soothe Yourself And Your New Baby
Baby Om is the perfect way to work your baby into your yoga routine and still give you the time you need to interact with your new little one. Founders Laura Staton and Sarah Perron created Baby Om when they were new mothers themselves.
“You’ve just had a baby, and now you have two new goals: getting back in shape and enjoying close, meaningful interaction with your newborn. Baby Om teaches you a dynamic and nurturing yoga practice that you can do with your infant, anytime and anywhere,” Staton and Perron said in their book Baby Om
The first trick in getting this new yoga routine to work is to time it correctly. Babies thrive on routine, so if you set aside a specific time during the day to do Baby Om, your baby will adjust and come to look forward to the time!
Most moms start to worry when their babies starts fussing. Babies generally fuss a bit when you first start Baby Om. If your baby seems really upset by the process, stop. Just be sure to get back into your routine again tomorrow.
Remember that Baby Om is meant to be enjoyable for both you and baby, so enjoy the time spent working on your form and working on your bond! The interaction is invaluable for both of you.
